October Favorites

Hello, friends! I'm here with some of my favorites of this month. I'm super duper really sorry that I haven't been updating much but don't fret! I've just been very  busy with algebra and field hockey and violin and UGH. I will try to update more than I usually do, right after field hockey season ends which, sadly, will be very soon.

I'm very confused right now because I could have sworn that it was August yesterday. WHERE HAS THE TIME GONE? It's almost NOVEMBER???? I'm really confused??? What?????

But anyway on to my favorites :)

Book:
Ender's Game by Orson Scott Card

As much hype as there is about the movie (I'M SO EXCITED), I've been dying to read this book for about a year but never really got the chance to do so. But, I finally did a few weeks ago and, well, let's just say I'm OBSESSED. The story is about a young boy named Ender Wiggin who is chosen to go to Battle School at the age of six. People are thinking that he will be the one to save the world from the invading aliens. The story chronologically tells of Ender's experiences in Battle School and beyond and when he finally faces the aliens. There are many twists and turns that will make very you emotionally unstable but, you know , only the best books do that to you. I completely recommend this book. The movie comes to theaters on November 1st.

Movie:
Tim Burton's The Corpse Bride

Okay, so I only watched this movie for the first time on Sunday, which I know is very surprising due to the fact that it came out in 2006 and has been quite popular since then. I thought that this movie was very cute and twisted (like most Tim Burton movies are). It wasn't exactly what I was expecting from all the tumblr posts I've seen about it but maybe a little better. It was sad and frightening but with humor all put in as well. I do recommend watching this film.

Fashion Trend:
Space Buns

OK, so I have been obsessed with space buns ever since Imogen (aka the girl up there ^^) did them on Deagrassi. I love how quirky and different they are. I just hope I have enough confindence to wear them to school >-<

Singer/Song:
Lorde

I've been listening to a lot of her music since July when I first heard the song "Royals" on my Pandora. I was in love. Her sound is so cool and hip hop-y, yet funky and original. My favorites from her are "Tennis Court" and "Team."

Sweater Weather & Almost is Never Enough & Heartbreak Girl

THESE SONGS HAVE NOT BEEN OUT OF MY HEAD FOR THE PAST MONTH. Sweater Weather is by the Neighbourhood, Almost is Never Enough is by Ariana Grande ft. Nathan Sykes, and Heartbreak Girl is by 5 Seconds of Summer (my bbys.)

So that's all for now! I hope you like this :)

stay swaggy,

Sweater Weather

Sweater Weather

All I am is a man
I want the world in my hands
I hate the beach
But I stand
In California with my toes in the sand
Use the sleeves of my sweater
Let's have an adventure
Head in the clouds but my gravity's centered
Touch my neck and I'll touch yours
You in those little high-waisted shorts, oh
